What does a typical workday look like to you?

I think I haven't had a "typical day" in a while now. And that's one of the things I like about my job, there's something new every day - a new sneaky bug to uncover and fix, a new solution to implement or a prototype to experiment with, a new something to learn...
I've also become a sort of "go-to-person" for fixing issues and helping others, so I usually help a person or two every day with something they struggle with.
On a higher level, I could probably describe my typical workday in a simple infinite-recursive function: `fun repeat() { code(); eat(); sleep(); repeat() }`

Which technologies do you work with?

I am now, and have been for the past 4.5 years, working @Elhub. I've been involved in a variety of roles since I've joined Elhub, starting from test automation, cloud platform development, application development. Right now, my main focus is CI/CD, DevOps and devxp (development experience).
Technologies I use most at the moment are Java/Kotlin, Ansible, TeamCity, OCI, Siemens EnergyIP platform, Cloudera/Hadoop, to name a few.

What drives you at work and in your role, what is fun?

I like to solve complex and uncommon problems, where you need to deep-dive into something. This also lets me learn the technology I'm working with much better.
I'm also very passionate about all sorts of automation (from automating simple things that make my day-to-day life easier to bigger things like establishing CI/CD). My second big passion at work is software quality and testing, which I think also goes hand in hand with automated processes.

What is the best thing about working in Cegal?

We have great people. It's a really diverse, multi-cultural, and often quite fun work environment where you can learn a lot from your own assignments and from your colleagues.

Which app do you use the most?

If you asked me this like half a year ago - probably messaging apps like WhatsApp/Telegram would be on the top of the list, since that's what me and my wife used to connect daily, back when she still lived in her home country.
Now that she's finally here, I think the app I use most is Podcast Addict on the phone, and MoonReader / YouTube on the tablet.

I'm one of those people who doesn't have either.

Is there anything else we should know about you?

A lot of my hobbies and interests are around outdoor activities and different kinds of sports (My favorite team sport is probably basketball, closely followed by football.) That said, I'm a kind of person who mostly likes to play sport games, but I rarely watch them. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and cycling a lot.

I've lived in India for 1.5 years in 2016-2017 and that was one hell of experience of which I enjoyed almost every day.
I also like to learn foreign languages. I think it's a great way to learn about other cultures.

I also really enjoy cooking. But on weekdays it's more of an everyday chore kind of thing, so lately I make something "fancy" maybe once a week. Other than that, I'm kind of a geek, like many of us in IT, and I enjoy all sorts of tech-related things 💻
