Microsoft Partner programs evolving – Cegal is well underway with qualifications at the top level
Microsoft is evolving their Partner Network Program into the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program. Cegal is already eligible for the first of four certifications in the new program.
In March 2022, Microsoft announced that it would overhaul the Microsoft Partner Network and carry out one of the most significant changes in its partner history. Cegal is among the first Microsoft partners who already have a certification in place. It is well on its way to reaching the top level in Microsoft's new partner program in several solution areas.
Today, Cegal is qualified as a Solutions Partner in the technology area Data & AI (Azure). The aim is to be a Solutions Partner in four out of a total of six solution areas. The other three are Infrastructure (Azure), Digital & App Innovation (Azure) and Modern Work (Microsoft 365).
As Solutions Partner, we have documented expertise and competence through several certifications. We also get easier access to Microsoft's own resources and experts if needed. Both parts benefit our customers because we can deliver even better projects

New partner program adds more value to customers
Microsoft is changing its partner program to respond to the significant changes in society related to how we work, live and learn. The new partner program places more emphasis on cloud solutions, Microsoft Azure, and how the partners can give even better help to companies with digital transformation and digital growth.
Microsoft Cloud Partner Program" is the new name that replaces the old "Microsoft Partner Network". The term "Gold Partner" disappears in the new program and is replaced by "Solutions Partner". Cegal has already reached the first of four Solutions Partner qualifications planned. Cegal has qualified in Data & AI, which shows that Cegal has good competence and several certifications in databases in Microsoft Azure.
To become a Solutions Partner, the top level of the new program, Microsoft measures the partners in three areas:
- Performance
- Competence and certifications
- Customer success.
The aim of the changes is to make it easier for customers to harvest more value from Microsoft's latest technologies and solutions, and for the partners to be able to provide even better help to the customers. With the changes, Microsoft will connect customers, partners and modern cloud technology more closely together so that projects can be started more quickly and customers realize greater return on their IT investments. With the new partner program, Microsoft will make it easier for customers to take advantage of the technological opportunities available today and tomorrow.
Anchored in the Microsoft Cloud in six solution areas
With the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program, Microsoft simplifies the previous partner program. The new program is anchored in Microsoft Cloud and Azure through a total of six solution areas. The six areas are:
- Data & AI (Azure).
- Infrastructure (Azure).
- Digital & App Innovation (Azure).
- Business Applications (Dynamics 365 and Power Platform).
- Modern Work (Microsoft 365).
- Security (Microsoft 365 and Azure).
The new Microsoft Cloud Partner Program includes all partners in the Microsoft ecosystem, regardless of whether they develop and sell services, sell software and solutions or sell hardware.
