Blueback Well Ties
Multi-well, multi-seismic advanced well-to-seismic tie solution
Multi-well, multi-seismic advanced well-to-seismic tie solution
High-efficiency multi-well seismic calibration
Blueback Well Ties delivers a next-generation approach to well-to-seismic calibration by combining automation, multi-well scalability, and intelligent parameter handling in a single streamlined workflow. Simultaneously tie large numbers of wells to Partial Angle Stacks, Intercept, Gradient, Chi and PS volumes at the same time.
Well-to-seismic ties anchor the relationship between depth-based measurements at the wells and the time-based images from seismic.
If ties are inconsistent across wells or surveys, horizons can misalign, time–depth relationships (TDR) become unreliable, wavelets lose stability, and synthetics no longer reflect the reservoir. This directly affects inversion quality, well placement decisions, and the reliability of prospect evaluation.
Designed for interpreters who need reliable ties without slowing down, Blueback Well Ties delivers:
Cascading parameter updates: change logs, wavelets, checkshots, or seismic once and apply everywhere.
Integrated log conditioning, robust tie methods, and real-time wavelet estimation for better synthetics and TDR/TWT relationships.
Simple Mode lets any interpreter produce clean ties in minutes. Advanced Mode unlocks full control when needed.
Handles tens of wells, multiple surveys, and angle stacks without losing performance or consistency.
Available in Petrel and Blueback Avary, maintaining project traceability and version history.
Simple mode: for fast, everyday ties
→ Best for day-to-day interpretation and quick project updates
Advanced mode: for quantitative and specialist workflows
→ Best for AVO studies, inversion preparation, and quantitative reservoir characterization
