Cegal is opening an office in Tallinn, Estonia, to gain access to more super-skilled tech people. The goal is to have 20 consultants working with Cegal customers worldwide by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

We experience strong demand for our services and need more skilled people. With an office on the top floor of Öpiku Maja in Ülemiste City, we increase our access to super-skilled tech people from a country close to Norway culturewise and physically.
Dagfinn Ringaas, Cegal

Dagfinn Ringaas, CEO in Cegal, says that the recruitment has already started, and he emphazises that the office location in Ülemiste, the new and vibrant part of Tallinn, will help attract highly talented and skilled IT professionals in Estonia. Today 20.000 people work in “Europe's Silicon Valley”, most of them in tech companies like Hitachi, ABB, and Skeleton Technologies. The Smart City and Green City district was developed to be an attractive hub for students, workplaces and residents. The former factory district will soon be powered 100 per cent by renewable energy.

Cegal is a tech powerhouse specialising in energy and is turning complex IT into digital success stories. The company is shaping the digital future by delivering leading industry software, world-class consulting, and mission-critical cloud solutions. With 900 employees in nine countries, they are growing to become a leading global technology powerhouse for the energy industry and a contributor to the green transition. Among Cegal’s customers, we find some of the world's most significant energy and oil&gas companies together with dominant companies in the Nordic countries.

Hiring cloud experts first

The consultants hired in Estonia will work with cloud technology. Before the end of the year, Ringaas hopes he can welcome at least five new colleagues in the Estonian capital, and during the first quarter of 2023 the plan is to hire 15 more.

“The employees will belong to existing departments in Cegal globally and work with our various cloud solutions and technologies. They will report to a department manager on an equal footing with other Cegal employees,” Ringaas continues.

Competence, culture and available resources were essential when Cegal chose their new European location. Estonia and Tallinn came top in these evaluations due to experiences, highly qualified talent, and a vibrant tech-oriented business environment.

Additionally, Estonia is very similar to Norwegian and Nordic cultures and mindsets. Estonia is also digitally very advanced with high IT competency
Randi Navarro, Cegal

"Being attractive to foreign talents gives great opportunities for recruiting different nationalities and skill sets. English skills are at a high level making it very easy to communicate with the new Cegalians in Estonia. When visiting Estonia and the region around Tallinn, one feels like being in “Silicon Valley” in many ways,” says Randi Navarro, Chief International Operations Officer at Cegal.

Navarro will lead the operations in Estonia and has become a digital resident - an e-resident - of Estonia.

“Cegal is an inspiring, fast-growing company”

Lauri Bambus, Ambassador of Estonia to Norway, is pleased that Cegal is now choosing to establish itself in the country.

We are very proud to welcome Cegal to Tallinn. Cegal’s investment in Tallinn is a clear demonstration of the city's attractiveness due to the experienced and highly qualified IT talent, as well as the great reputation of the Estonian educational system
Lauri Bambus, Ambassador of Estonia to Norway

"Cegal's focus on sustainability and position as a leading global technology company for the energy sector fits very well with the Estonian business world. I would say Cegal is an inspiring, fast-growing company and an attractive employer for Estonian tech heads that want to work in a truly international environment, " says Lauri Bambus.

To recruit the Estonian team, Cegal chose CVO Recruitment - a recognised recruitment agency in the IT field, which has previously supported several organisations in entering the Estonian market and building a unit here, from creating a recruitment strategy to supporting the integration of new people. According to CVO Recruitment board member Triin Raamat, as a modern, progressive and employee-valuing company, Cegal is very welcome in Estonia:

"Their field of activity and development projects certainly offer excitement and professional growth opportunities for new employees. When Europe and the world face many crises, Cegal is a reliable and sustainable employer. We were assured that they would be a worthy employer during negotiations and recruitment preparations. We are thrilled to be their recruitment partner in Estonia," says Raamat.

Cegal have started recruiting the first roles: Client Expert, VMware Consultant, Storage Consultant and Network and Security Engineers.
