With a new name and new logo, the merger between Cegal and SYSCO will be completed. The foundation has now been laid to build a leading, global technology company for the energy sector. From today we are Cegal.

In the autumn of 2021, it was announced that the two technology companies Cegal and SYSCO merged into one tech company. Our vision is to create a leading, global, tech company that will be a strong contributor to the green transition for the entire energy industry, from oil and gas to hydropower, and other renewable energy sources. At the same time, we will continue to turn complex IT into digital success stories for all new and current customers in other industries.

Our new profile underlines that we will play a key role in the green transition. We also kept the Cegal name to preserve the company's long traditions in the energy sector.

We have a new brand but instead of a lot of blah blah blah – check out our new brand video! Sound on.

“The energy industry has a great need to deliver energy in new and sustainable ways. The green transition means that huge investments are made in technology transformation”, continues Ringås.

The transformation of the international oil and gas sector and the shift towards renewable energy sources is now happening at a furious pace. Modern, cloud-based technology that simplifies complex IT solutions is the key to success. SYSCO and Cegal both have extensive experience in digitization and modernization with customers in this sector.

We will be clear about what we do: industrial software, world-class consulting services, as well as delivery of secure and stable cloud operating services. In this way, we become a strong contributor to driving the green transition, at the same time as we deal with the challenges in other industries.

Together Cegal and SYSCO have become one of Norway’s largest IT consulting companies with offices in the Nordics, Europe, America, and Asia. Together we can deliver more and even better services to our customers.

We will continue to grow, but we will keep the flexibility, the pace, and the flat structure, with lots of energy and positivity. It is and should always be fun to go to work at Cegal, the CEO emphasizes.

New customers and many new employees

The market has welcomed the merger, and many are searching for job opportunities at the new technology company. We will recruit over 200 new employees during 2022 – that is approximately one new employee per workday.

Current and new customers are also embracing Cegal. One of the new customers is the Norwegian charging company Easee, which is currently experiencing great international success. Easee's vision is to shape the power grid of the future. The company chose Cegal as its IT operations supplier, partly due to its ambition to become the world's leading technology company for the energy sector.

With the merger, we got a technology supplier focusing on solutions for the green transition in the energy industry. We look forward to finding out how Cegal can help us and how we together can develop solutions for the green transition, and which contribute to shaping the power grid of the future.

Cegal was established in 2000 in Stavanger and has since then experienced significant growth both organically and through acquisitions. Cegal is established as a leading, global provider of technology and services especially in the oil and gas industry.

SYSCO was established in Haugesund in 2004. The company has had a strong and profitable growth year after year. From its humble beginning with 4-5 employees and a few million in turnover, the company has built itself up to be the leading supplier of technology and services to the Norwegian energy industry and is the Nordic region's leading Oracle partner.
