Cegal enters a long-term strategic partnership with Sval Energi, a Norwegian oil and gas company operating on the Norwegian continental shelf. As part of the agreement, Cegal will also take over Sval's IT and Subsurface Data Management employees, effectively becoming Sval's IT department.

- Under the new agreement, Sval Energi will hand over all traditional IT operations to Cegal, while Cegal will also act as a key IT advisor to the energy company, contributing to continuous digitalization, efficiency, and development to ensure that technology supports Sval's business to the fullest. The trust we have received from Sval Energi shows that our partnership model is gaining traction in the market, says Dagfinn Ringås, CEO in Cegal.

Since its start in 2019, Sval Energi has grown significantly, and is today one of the largest oil and gas producers in Norway. Sval has had an IT operations agreement with Cegal since its beginnings. It has worked well, and Sval now chooses to extend and expand on this.

Ensuring cost-effective IT operations

The new agreement is an extension of the current agreement, which includes scalable IT infrastructure management, application management through Cegal's cloud platform, Cetegra, service desk, and Subsurface Data Management. The new partnership agreement means that Cegal will have greater responsibility for advising, administering, and developing Sval's IT portfolio to ensure that the IT platform constantly supports the company's needs and objectives. The effective date of the new agreement is May 2023.

- Cegal had previously signed a similar agreement with OKEA, another oil and gas company, but the unique aspect of our role with Sval is that we know and understand the entire energy industry so well that we can work independently to benefit Sval on a daily basis. We facilitate so that the company can quickly make good, overall decisions in the span between IT and business," says Dagfinn Ringås in Cegal to conclude.
