After delivering in the kindergarten, I start the day with our daily team meeting where we discuss what we did yesterday and what`s on today’s agenda. Every day looks a bit different and contains a great mix of license renewals, contract discussions, support for applications and work processes, data management, project work, follow-up of the project team I am responsible for, and planning budgets for subsurface IT and related projects.
I work a lot with subsurface applications like Petrel, Eclipse, tNav, ArcGIS, Petex Suite on our cloud solution Cetegra, in addition to Microsoft Office of course.

What drives you at work and in your role, what's fun?
I started at Cegal as a geological consultant at a client site where I worked as a geophysicist and geologist in both exploration and production. Now I work as an application manager for subsurface and I’m the main contact for all applications within this domain. This means that I’m responsible for everything related to IT, wells, and drilling.
This was very different to my education, but I enjoyed the challenge of being thrown into deep water and learning how to swim in a very short time. It’s great to have the opportunity to expand knowledge on the job and work in different areas together with different personalities and teams.
“I love to solve challenges and expand my knowledge”

Although we have grown a lot, Cegal is still a very personal company with a lot of nice colleagues who help each other and stand in for each other. We can work as a good team together, even if we’re not officially and organizationally on the same team.
I use Whatsapp to talk with my friends in other places in the world.
“Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer.”

Is there anything else we should know about you?
I love most outdoor sports and enjoy nature. I do a lot of hiking, climbing, cycling, swimming, skiing (downhill, cross-country, and Randonnèe), ice skating and squash. Now we’ve also started company sports in climbing where I am the leader. I also love flowers, collecting minerals and I have two cats. Otherwise, I love doing things with my boyfriend, my son, and friends, and reading good books, preferably in paper format.
Fun fact: I ended my education in computer science because I thought it was incredibly boring and never wanted to work in an IT company…
Something not many people know about me is that I worked for over 10 years as a lifeguard and paramedic at the Red Cross in Bavaria and at a private ambulance service in Munich to pay for my studies.
