What are Managed Services?

Managed Services can be explained as outsourcing of the responsibility to maintain a variety of processes and functions in order to improve operations and reduce expenses in a business.

This means that it is possible to outsource certain IT functions to a third-party provider, a Managed Service Provider (MSP). This service provider can remotely control customer and/or end user systems, on a proactive basis and based on a subscription model.

IT solutions which are monitored typically include networking and servers, software and technology infrastructure, data security systems, and overall network security and risk management.

Managed Services, for example, can provide customers with economies of scale by outsourcing shift schemes, emergency responders and support for systems which require this 24/7. There may also be on-prem solutions, where an MSP has multiple solutions in one machine for multiple customers. Gathering together all the applications, data and resources that your employees use in their everyday work in one place offers substantial benefits.

Managed Service frees up resources that can be spent on more value-added work and core competencies. At the same time, the uptime and quality of IT systems are maintained, which in turn enables the company to become more efficient and deliver better services to its customers and employees.
