What is High-Performance Computing (HPC)?

High-Performance computing (HPC) gives the ability to process complex, performance-intensive equations and solves problems quicker than with a regular PC. Indeed, using HPC is like linking thousands of PC’s together in a network to combine their power and successfully perform quadrillions of calculations per second. With all these computers working in parallel one can process more data, more calculations, and more tasks in less time.

HPC is available both on-premises and in the cloud. The main benefit of using the HPC in the cloud is that it is not necessary to purchase and maintain your own hardware. HPC in the cloud enables setting up ad-hoc and on-demand clusters using large amounts of servers.

Cegal and HPC

Cegal uses HPC both on-premises and in the cloud. Cetegra offers a turn-key HPC solution, designed to provide all energy professionals with mass processing power for running advanced simulations efficiently, reliably and quickly.
