The International Women’s Day is an important day to celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness around women’s equality. As a global company with a multinational workforce in offices around the world, diversity and equality are deeply rooted in Cegal’s core values.
Women@Cegal is a newly established female network and platform for both professional and social activities for all women in Cegal. The mission is ‘SHAPING the future workplace’ through the exchange of experiences, skills and personal development.

In honor of International Women’s Day, Women@Cegal hosted a Lunch & Learn session with professional football player Maria Thorisdottir. Even though a lot of work has been done to improve equality for female athletes, there is still a long way to go. Every day, women must fight for the right to be taken seriously within their field, and the contrasts are particularly visible in the world of professional football.
Maria shared some valuable insights from her career, her views on the work that needs to be done to improve equality and gave some advice on how to “let your feet talk” when the odds are stacked against you.
Moving forward, Women@Cegal will continue the efforts to inspire and motivate current and future female employees through hosting a series of internal webinars and other professional and social initiatives.
