What is grid tariff?

The grid tariff is a rent that you pay to your local power company for transporting the electricity into your home.

The grid tariff is intended to cover the development, operation and maintenance of the electricity grid. The grid tariff is paid to your local grid company. The conditions for the grid tariff are laid down in a standard nationwide agreement, and the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) checks that this is done correctly.
