OKEA is a Norwegian oil and gas operator with a lean organization and high operational demands. As the company prepared to modernize its HR, competence, and time tracking systems, it became clear that technology alone would not solve the challenge. The real complexity lies in how data moved between systems, and how employees experienced those processes in their everyday work.
The initiative involved replacing several core systems that support the employee lifecycle. HR data needed to act as master data across the organization, feeding multiple downstream systems accurately and securely. At the same time, OKEA faced increased requirements related to information security and GDPR compliance, as well as a complex integration landscape involving more than 20 data flows.

Cegal supported OKEA with integration advisory, implementation, and governance. A new low-code integration platform, combined with centralized identity and access management, enabled automated data exchange and more consistent onboarding and offboarding processes.

The first integrations went live in February 2026. After go-live, the solution demonstrated high operational stability with few incidents and limited need for support. The new setup contributes to more consistent processes, improved data quality, and stronger access control across systems.
