“Mental health issues are an increasingly challenge in today’s society, and this year, the need for focus is even bigger due to the pandemic. By donating to social activities for kids and young adults, we hope we can contribute to giving them a better Christmas during a difficult time”, says Nina Amdal Fiskaaen, Chairwoman of the Cegal Humanity Board.

Every year since 2016, Cegal Humanity has hosted the Christmas Sweater Day right before Christmas to collect donations from the Cegal employees for a special cause. Cegal Humanity offers lottery tickets at a nice prize, and the funds are donated to a cause chosen by the Cegal Humanity Board.

As everything else this year, the 2020 event was digital, but that did not limit either the donations or the Christmas Sweater creativity!

The funds this year were donated to the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care (BUPA) and the residential units M1 and N1. BUPA offers specialist health care to children and young people who suffer from psychiatric illness, and also their families.

The Chairwoman of the Board of Cegal Humanity, Nina Amdal Fiskaaen, explains why this cause was chosen.

“Mental health issues are an increasingly challenge in today’s society, and this year, the need for focus is even bigger due to the pandemic. By donating to social activities for kids and young adults having to spend Christmas in the residential units in BUPA Stavanger, we hope we can contribute to giving them a better Christmas during a difficult time” she says.
